Happy SuperSunday, Superman fans! It was a light but mighty week for the Man of Steel. The Superman family titles are better than ever… I might even venture to say that they’re just as good (if not better) than the Batman books. Which is really saying something, because those have been pretty consistently incredible for about two decades straight. Anywho, here are my thoughts:
DC Comics Bombshells #22 – My Rating: 4/5
Super Powers #4 (of 6) – My Rating: 4/5
Midnighter and Apollo #5 (of 6) – My Rating: 5/5
Justice League #14 – My Rating: 4/5
Superman #16 – My Rating: 5/5
Supergirl 2.10: “We Can Be Heroes” – My Rating: 4.5/5
…and my pick of the week is… SUPERMAN!!!
There you have it. The main Superman book is fantastic. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s action- and drama-packed. And for the first time in years, it really feels like Superman again. I love the subtle hints and nods toward the next big event, but it’s not enough to detract or distract away from great storytelling. Lots of great titles to choose from out there, and the DCTVU is doing fantastic on the small screen. What were your thoughts? We’d love to hear from you in the comments or on social media.
