Steve Dillon – Preacher and Punisher artist – Has Died

Steve Dillon, the artist famous for his work on The Punisher and Preacher has passed on at the age of 53.

Dillon was an Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards Nominee  in 1996 for the Best Penciller/Inker category.

Hailing from Luton, Bedfordshire England, Dillon has worked on countless titles since he was just sixteen years old and  and has credits for writing, penciling, inking, editing, coloring and cover art spanning decades.

His work includes The Punisher, Punisher Max, Punisher War Journal, Preacher, Doctor Who, Judge Dredd, Hellblazer, Rogue Trooper, Wolverine and many of the Vertigo titles through DC Comics. He is also credited with creating Dogwelder who is a character in Garth Ennis’s Hitman series.

On Twitter, Warren Ellis said; “I have it confirmed that Steve Dillon has died. He was a giant, and will be much missed.”

Further details have not been released by the family as of yet.
