Stephen Moyer joins cast of untitled Fox/Marvel TV Series

Moyer

Stephen Moyer has joined the cast of an upcoming and as-yet untitled Marvel  tv series for Fox Studios.   According to THR, Moyer will be the lead for this show.

The series, written by Matt Nix and directed by Bryan Singer also stars Jamie Chung (Gotham, Big Hero 6, Sin City) as the character Clarice Fong (also known as Blink) as well as Blair Redford (CSI, Burlesque) who will be playing a character named Sam, who leads an underground network for mutants.

Stephen Moyer’s (True Blood, Priest, The Sound of Music Live!) character is named Reed and he works at a District Attorney’s office.  The show will focus on two parents who discover that their children have extraordinary mutant abilities so perhaps Moyer will be one half of the parent duo.

Though untitled and still largely under wraps (it’s not even being called an X-Men show just yet), Matt Nix did make a statement about the show; “There are a certain amount of [familiar] characters that I can use and am using and then other characters I’m inventing — but everything is invented with a nod toward the existing mythology,” There will be a blend of brand new characters as well as older, previously established characters such as Chung’s Blink.  A new character named Eclipse will be played by actor Sean Teale (Incorporated).

Matt Nix, Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will be executive producers for 20th TV and also for Marvel Television.  Bryan Singer has directed four X-Men feature-length films and this will be the seventh X-Men television series, most of which were not live-action.

IMDB Storyline: “In a world where mutated humans are treated with distrust and fear, a institute for mutants battles to achieve peaceful co-existence with humanity.”
