This is a follow up story to last weeks Alpha Comics break-in. A Nonprofit group of comic book artist called PanelOne Calgary has come together like the Justice League to help raise funds for Alpha Comics. When all hope seemed to be lost a few good heroes swooped in to save the day.
As stated on the PanelOne Calgary site.
“After some discussion, we decided we’d set up a local creator event at the store, with all proceeds going to Alpha Comics. So save the date and come visit us! Saturday, June 6, 2015, starting at 2:00 – local artists and writers will be setting up tables to make art for you, in support of our friend.
Tell everyone you know, come buy some art, buy some comics and support local! If you have something you’d like to contribute, or would like to be involved, please let me know at info@panelone.ca or @panel_one — the more, the merrier!”

“It’s a great testimonial on how people are awesome,” said store owner Chris Humphries.
“I had a break-in and felt really down in the dumps for it, really down on humanity, then all these people came up and said they want to do this for me and the store, so it’s amazing.”
Humphries said he hopes Saturday’s event raises enough for him to buy a set of metal shutters for the front of his store.
The three individuals involved in the robbery have yet to be arrested, hopefully though all goes well for this event and enough funds are raised to support the much needed shutters.
Panel One is a group of artist brought together to celebrate and promote the comic creators of Calgary and surrounding area. An umbrella organization built for comics creators to help each other succeed.
