Logan News: Berlin Premier, Free Limited Posters, Early Tracking, X-23 Spinoff?
We are now just a mere two weeks away from the wide-release of the highly anticipated three-quel Wolverine movie, Logan. The world premier is actually today – February 17 2017 – at the Berlin Film Festival. It will air at 10PM local time at the Berlinale Palast. Expect to hear reviews and initial reactions following this airing.
Early tracking numbers are starting to come in from Box Office companies and they are putting Logan at around a $60 million dollar domestic (US) open weekend box office performance. I fully expect this number to adjust (higher?) once reviews and the like start making their rounds. On the JLS Comics podcast, I predicted at $75 million dollar domestic opening weekend for this movie.
The website WeGotThisCovered spoke with James Mangold recently and he had two interesting things to say, both of which I am 100% in support of:
“I definitely know that Hugh and I will work together again,”
Interestingly, he also made this comment:
”I think Dafne is incredible in the film and I would love to see another film about that character and that’s certainly something I’d be involved in. For me that was one of the big additions I brought to the table, this decision to try to make the film about family and to try to insert Laura and the pressures that would put and the idea about Charles ailing.”
