KCCC 2015 Gallery – Cosplay
Kansas and surrounding areas proved their metal (armored, that is) at Kansas City Comicon 2015 last weekend! Over 10,000 local area peeps came out to attend and support the first year convention. “We are very happy with the response and attendance with this being our first year,” said KCCC’s Rav Powell.
Homemade, detailed, store-bought and amazingly imagined costumes abounded – there was no end to them – all were incredible! Fantastic amounts of family cosplay, monstrous armor builds, intricate gender swap costumes and unique, rarely seen costuming was out and about during KCCC!
The crowd proved massively talented and full of creativity – incorporating ‘heart and soul’ into the design, fabrication and final touches of each and every costume! Dedication was even seen in the gender swap Sailor Freddie Mercury cosplay, Bob’s Burgers costume group and, well, basically every single Deadpool out there; they were spot on and totally in character)! Favorites!!! A wonderful group of folks just out to have fun and display their hard work and cosplay prowess!
The Photo Bus Kansas City
Not enough can be said about The Photo Bus Kansas City – amazing idea! This cute couple (recently engaged in the photo bus – with pics!) gave out hundreds of free snaps for everyone – most of which can be viewed and downloaded online! LUV’d it!!!
The KC Cosplay & Photography, led by Ali Smith and crew was out and about with their teammate Eric Collins and his Red Dalek. Eric and sons brought Red Dalek, (great Doctor Who prop) and a full size Tardis for all attendees to snap pics and join in the fun!
Cosplay Groups
Other cosplay groups and supporters among those present were: Elite Super Girl, Alexa Heart – Heart & Soul Cosplay, Amy the Alchemist, Ultra Girls Cosplay, Aaron Rabe, Another Castle Creations, Iron Brothers of Topeka, Walkin’ and Rollin’ Costumes, Elite Comics, Crunk Panda, Doodlespork Cosplay, Kansas City Predators Costuming Group, Shield Lab, Stephen K Smith Props and Propcustomz. Whew! Such cosplay support out there and what an altruistic crowd – most of the cosplayers volunteer at hospitals, visiting children in the area and support many of their local community events!
Kansas is in the heart of the country and in my heart as well. Can’t wait to see what is in store from Kansas cosplayers at Planet Comicon 2016 and KCCC 2016!!! Enjoy!!!
Thanks for the pics! Always great to see the result.
