The New York Comic Con is just a few days away and very soon we’ll be bombarded with a ton of new comic news.  First off is news from Viper Comics.  They’re releasing a new comic series called Hooligan.  It has some great art from Dustin Evans and written by Mike C. Hall (Helldorado).

Here’s the official plot of the book.

Hooligan coverHooligan is a unique mash up of anti-hero, sci-fi, horror and action with a current mid-western backdrop. The story follows Rex, AKA, Hooligan as he searches for his missing wife and two kids. Hooligan believes there is something bizarre and unexplainable taking place in his small town, but nobody believes him. It’s up to him to battle his way through the unexplainable to get answers and restore order to his peaceful hometown. This comic proves the mid-west plains are every bit as treacherous as any big city.

Hooligan #1 is available on iTunes now.   Check it out!

Here is some great news for folks that missed reading Wizard Magazine.    Bluewater Productions is going into the E-Magazine industry with their new Magazine “THUNDER!”

THUNDER! COMIC BOOK / POP CULTURE E-MAGAZINE AVAILABLE IN TIME FOR AVENGERS DVD RELEASE WITH NEW JOSS WHEDON INTERVIEW

Thunder! coverJust in time for the highly anticipated Avengers DVD release, Bluewater Productions announces the digital debut of THUNDER!, the exciting magazine devoted entirely to the world of comic book movies and TV shows with exclusive interviews, behind the scenes episode guides, and much more. Our debut issue includes an in depth look at the popular live action film Avengers, featuring exclusive interviews with writer/director Joss Whedon and producer Kevin Feige.

Each issue of THUNDER! will take a unique flipbook approach by featuring a different extensive episode guide to a television series. In the case of issue number one, things are brought full circle by heading back into Avengers territory with the most comprehensive guide to the animated The Avengers: Earth¹s Mightiest Heroes, in which supervising producer Josh Fine and story editor Chris Yost discuss all 26 episodes of season one while providing some tantalizing clues to year two. Also this issue includes a episode guide for the Walking Dead television show.

The quarterly magazine is edited by journalist Ed Gross, whose wide-ranging credits include Cinescape, Starlog, Femme Fatales, Fangoria, Total Movie, Film Fantasy, SFX, Life Story, Movie Magic, Cinefantastique, SciFi Now, and Geek Monthly. Additionally, he has written a number of non-fiction books on film, television and comics.

“For me, THUNDER! is the culmination of a lifelong passion for comics and film,” offers Gross. “This is a great opportunity to combine and cover both of them in a way that no one else is doing.”

“With the loss of Wizard magazine, we are trying to pick up where they left off. I was a huge fan of their production value and we plan to hit that with this book” said Managing Editor Nikki Borror.

THUNDER! Is now available digitally for Nook, Kindle, iPad & My Digital Comics. Next week will be on Comixology, Iverse, Drive Thru and more.
