Gremlins, Doodzes and ants all take center stage in today’s Web Comics Wednesday! While the trio, as well as a few other creatures tossed into the mix, don’t really seem to have a common thread, they are all small, insignificant beings that tend to go unnoticed. But we’ve decided to shine the light on them as Web Comics Wednesday brings you SMALL CREATURES.
If you’re new to this, here’s the scoop: Each Wednesday we will showcase five indie web comics. Each will be categorized and will be judged by ART, STORY and APPEAL. This will give you an opportunity to support indie artists and the amazing work they do.
This weeks comics will explore TINY CREATURES. Without further ado, let’s GO!:
Story & Art: Robin White
About: Doodze is a cartoony fantasy comic about a race of tiny people in a world much bigger than them. The Doodzes are living a simple, quiet, care-free life, safe within their walled-in village. But circumstances beyond their control begin to force them to go outside into the great unknown, where danger and adventure await them.
Comic: Ellie On Planet X
Story & Art: James Anderson
About: Decades ago a spunky robot nicknamed Ellie was sent on a mission to a remote planet circling a distant star. It took more than thirty years for her to travel across the vacuum of space before she reached her destination eight light years from Earth. Finally, after years of waiting, the first transmissions from Ellie on Planet X have reached our receivers. Now you can follow Ellie along on her adventures exploring the surface of this alien world as she discovers new life forms and makes first contact with intelligent creatures!
Comic: The Crooked Gremlins
Story & Art: Carter Fort and Paul Lucci
About: The Crooked Gremlins, comprised of Frank Plutark, Elrond Hubbard, Nicholas P. Ogelthorpe and Retrac Diagoras are an elite cadre of subterranean mischief makers charged with one simple yet important task: break stuff.
Story & Art: Brian Powers
About: Brian Powers is an art director living near Dallas, Texas and has loved doing comics since he was a wee lad. He’s gotten a share of comics published over the years but have never hit a large stage with them; being rejected by only the best magazine and syndicate editors. So he’s thrown that dream out the window and replaced it with being content to do comics that he enjoy and that make him smile. But we think you’ll enjoy them as well.
