With Season two of The Walking Dead over and Halloween still months away, what are going to do to fill the zombie shaped voids in our life? Sure there’s “Zombie Walks” in cities across the US, but that’s only a day. There are conventions of all sorts, but those are special and rare events as well. There’s always online articles to keep you entertained, like one from our very own James Halstead. There’s even For Zombies which you can also catch on YouTube, which definitely helps with you’re zombie fix. But Comicbooked.com has an answer that directly involves you– a contest! That’s right guys, it’s time to build a better zombie. All you have to do is make yourself, or someone you know, into a zombie, and you can do so in any number of ways. You can do traditional make-up, you can use prosthetics, or you can use a combination of both– just make sure that’s it’s super gory, super bloody, and super realistic. Feel free to go for extra style points and stage a whole scene, background and all. What I’m saying is: put everything you’ve got into it! To win you gotta want it! Here are some examples below, from one extreme to another (with special thanks to Taffeta Darling, Alicia and Travis Maynard, and a zombie from The Walking Dead).
Now of course, like with any contest there are rules. The first rule is: no nudity (if you must send naked pictures, just know that they will not be eligible for this contest). All submissions must be received by May 1, 2012 to qualify (anything received later will not be counted). You may enter as many times as you like, as long as it’s a different zombie each time. This contest will be judged by three judges from Comicbooked.com, and all entries are to be sent to jeremyboreske@comicbooked.com. All entries become property of Comicbooked.com and will be published on our site, at our discretion. The winner will be announced May 15, 2012 and receive Season 1 of The Walking Dead on Blu-ray, as well as a couple of random The Walking Dead graphic novels. The lucky winners also be featured in an article here on our site! So get those submissions in. I expect to see gore galore– don’t let me down!
