Transform and Roll Out! Jordamus Prime Joins Comic Booked!

Jordamus Prime 12/08/2010 Features, Reviews

Comic books have always played an important role in my life, and it all comes back to one fateful night when I was a child of merely six years old. My parents had let me stay up late to watch a new cartoon show that was about to premiere on Fox’s primetime lineup. That show was ‘Batman: The Animated Series’, and I while I didn’t know it yet, it was going to change my life forever.

I sat and watched in awe as a normal man in a cape and cowl went blow for blow with the Man-Bat; a life-sized mutant version of what he was trying to be. By the end of that first jaw dropping episode, I was hooked; and I needed to know everything there was to know about Batman. I got into the comics, the toys, the movies and continued to watch this new cartoon show. That’s when I found out about Robin.
Robin, in a sense, is who every kid wishes they could be. Because he’s just a normal kid, like you, and not only can he fight side by side with Batman, he can keep up. While most people immediately think of Dick Grayson when they think of Robin, I was already into what many consider the Robin of my generation, Tim Drake. Don’t get me wrong, Grayson was always the first and arguably the best, but I grew up reading him as Nightwing. Drake on the other hand, he was my inspiration. He was the only person to ever use his head to follow the clues and deduce Batman’s secret identity; and he did it at age thirteen. Tim Drake made it cool to be smart, redefining what a geeky little kid could do.

Over the years, my love of comics grew as I discovered all of the other amazing series that were out there. I immediately fell in love with Daredevil, the X-men, Green Lantern and DC’s teen superhero team Young Justice; but as I got older, I started reading comics that weren’t your typical superhero stories. After discovering books like ‘Hellboy’, ‘Y: The Last Man’ and Bryan Lee O’Malley’s ‘Scott Pilgrim’ series, I started to realize just how much of an art-form comics really are. We live in a day and age where graphic novels like ‘The Watchmen’ and ‘V for Vendetta’ are listed among some of the greatest pieces of literature in history.
Now, comics are my life. I’ve always been a huge toy collector as well, being addicted to the latest Transformers and DC direct offerings as well as the majority of other comic related toys. I couldn’t be happier to have transformed my love of comics and toys into a career bringing you, the readers, all the latest news, rumors and reviews about anything and everything to have to do with comics, collectibles, movies and pretty much anything else that I think you might enjoy reading about. I hope to bring you a ton of cool new content in the immediate future, helping to make Comic Booked your one stop for all your comic book needs!
Joining the Comic Booked family has been a great experience so far, and I can only hope that you all enjoy what I bring to the table. Keep checking back for regular updates! I need to check out a lot of the Batman stuff out there. I heard the series was good, and I still have to watch Under the Red Hood. Good times!
