Thursday’s Valiant Effort: February 20, 2014

Valiant Effort

Another week of great books here on Thursday’s Valiant Effort. There is a lot of upcoming cool stuff in the next few months, but for now, there are still some amazing stories to read each week from some of the best writers and artists in the industry. On to the reviews!

Thursday's Valiant EffortUnity #4 – The stakes are high and the tension continues. This issue marks the end of the UNITY team’s first adventure and it has been a wild ride. As Harada’s secret machinations are revealed, this fresh team is faced with a choice that could change them forever. The Valiant Universe will never be the same. This is a knock down drag out fight to the finish that takes some unexpected turns as X-O Manowar and the evil mastermind, Harada, face off against a force more dangerous than they expected. Could this spell the end of UNITY as we know it? Find out by running out and picking up this issue. Matt Kindt and Doug Braithwaite have put together a stunning tale and this is the perfect cap to the first chapter.

Thursday's Valiant EffortQuantum and Woody #8 – The team of James Asmus and Ming Doyle bring us the showdown between Quantum and Woody and Magnum Security. Who will come out on top? It was not too much of a stretch to see that Quantum’s new boss, Mr. Magnum, was not all he was cracked up to be, but I didn’t think he was this bad. In an effort to subdue the camp of militia forces, Magnum sent Quantum in there to “take care of them” but what he really wanted was to start a war. Now, the group they were sent to undermine becomes an army fighting right along side Quantum and Woody. This should be interesting. Tune in next issue to see if Quantum still has a job.

Thursday's Valiant EffortBloodshot and H.A.R.D Corps #19 – Questions, answers, and Director Kozol gets kidnapped. After the beating that H.A.R.D Corp took last issue, the evil psiot mercenaries have taken Director Kozol. The real question is what do they know about Bloodshot’s past? Now, the team has to fight to save Kozol, even though they can’t stand him. What could be better than a shootout between super teams in the middle of the desert framed against an exploding pipeline?

That’s it for this week. You can click here and here to catch up on some news for Valiant Comics. Also as an added benefit, I will give you an awesome sneak peek of the Clayton Crain cover for the new Rai #1 coming in May 2014. If you aren’t, you really should read Valiant First!
