With the upcoming announcement that all comic books will now be moving digital in a last ditch effort to save the planet’s rainforests, this may well be the last new comic list. All future lists will be beamed directly into your brains, so you will have no need to open your eyes. This is all thanks to the coming of our alien masters who have subjugated our world and created a lovely virtual world for us all to live in together.
More breaking news this week as Ben Affleck has announced that he will now play every member of the Justice League in the upcoming film Justice League: Dawn of Affleck. Rumors are that Matt Damon will show up as well as the entire cast of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, the original Daredevil, and Good Will Hunting. This new film will be directed by Kevin Smith, but he is so busy with other things that he will only create part one of the two film series and then never get around to making the second half… Just like the Daredevil/Bullseye comic he started.
Dan Didio made some big announcements this week in regards to Convergence, the huge DC crossover event that will remake the universe… again. Working in conjunction with the folks at Marvel, who also happen to have a huge universe changing crossover event this Summer, Convergence and Secret War will lead right into the relaunch of the Amalgam universe in September 2015. Amalgam was the joint comics venture of the 1990’s that brought us Dark Claw, Lobo the Duck, and Bruce Wayne, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Look for new characters like the indifferent hipster Ms. Batgirl, the excitable but brooding Damien, Son of the Nova, and the new series Claws of Fury featuring Dark Claw hurtled into the 31st Century and imbued with the DNA of a speedster in order to take on an invasion of shape-changing alien demons known as the Chitauri-Skrull-demon Conclave. All of these new series will be “just stories, no continuity”, which should make it way easier for the writers who just want to make up whatever the hell they want anyway.
