It’s about that time. Terminator: Genesis is starting production and we’ve got our first photo of Arnold on the set… wearing some very familiar, though more loose-fitting, leather pants.
Terminator: Genesis not only stars Arnold Schwarzenegger back in his iconic role but also brings Game of Thrones star, Emilia Clarke in as the new Sarah Conner. The unrelated Jason Clarke (White House Down, Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) plays her son, John Conner and Jai Courtney (I, Frankenstein, Divergent, A Good Day to Die Hard) will be Kyle Reese.
The film is to be directed by Alan Taylor, who brought us Thor: The Dark World, several episodes of Game of Thrones and The Sopranos. James Cameron didn’t write the screenplay but he is credited with writing the characters… for what that’s worth.
Terminator: Genesis is currently slated for a mid-summer 2015 release and is the first film in the franchise since the 2009 sequelprequel, Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale. Rumor has it, Terminator: Genesis will use a lot of time travel, even taking us into moments from the original three films. Arnold is also quoted saying, “…it has the same feel of Terminator 2. It’s big. There’s hard-core action and it has some really great visual effects in there…”
