Alright webheads, we got all your WonderCon news for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man right here! And what a big year it is, with a new game, The Amazing Spider-Man movie set to be released in July, and a new animated TV show,Ultimate Spider-Man, scheduled to debut April 1st on Disney XD. Not to mention the amazing things they have planned for the comic books! Some huge landmarks will fall this year, including issue 700! Marvel also has big plans in August revolving around the 50th anniversary!
Starting things off will be Ends of the Earth, a new epic event for The Amazing Spider-Man title, that will pit our fearless wall-crawler against Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six. Long time Spidey writer, Dan Slott, will be penning this masterpiece in the making, with Humberto Ramos and Stefano Caselli handling the artwork. This creative powerhouse has been responsible for some of the best story lines in recent Spidey history, including the much talked about, Spider-Island.
Ends of the Earth will crossover to the other Spidey book, Avenging Spider-Man, which is also written by Slott and Ty Templeton, and artwork by Mathew Clark. Spidey will utilize a variety of suits to combat the Sinister Six and their powers. Once Ends of the Earth concludes, Slott has more planned with, No Turning Back, with Giuseppe Camuncoli on art. We will see the Lizard return in this saga.
There is also the history-making book planned for June, Spider-Men! At least two Spideys set loose on New York. The creative team behind this upcoming book is Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli and Justin Ponsor.
There are big plans for the Scarlet Spider as well, with his stories set out of Houston. The book is being written by Chris Yost with art by Ryan Stegman. Big plans are in the works, as issue 6 will see an appearance by Kraven!
We also got some news on Venom, written by Rick Remender and Cullen Bunn, with art by Kev Walker. Issue 17 will see the start of, Enter the Savage Six! At issue 19, Lan Medina will take over the artwork.
There is a major crossover event titled The Omega Effect, which will span from Avenging Spider-Man #6 , to Punisher #10, and Daredevil #11. Mark Waid and Greg Rucka are writing the story, and art is handled by Marco Checchetto. Speaking of the Punisher, word has it he may be traveling in SPACE! There is also hush talk about a Minimum Carnage book in the works, but no details were given at this time. Also,, some big plans and adventures for Miles Morales, The Ultimate Spider-Man.
