This is an innovative new game from LittleBigPlanet series developers Media Molecule for the PS Vita that really looks to take advantage of the handheld device. Think of it as a buddy movie starring paper characters, the Mm blog goes on to say the following:
“Using the god-like powers inherent to someone who can hold an entire world in their giant hands, you can make your presence felt using a whole range of godly powers that take advantage of all of the Vita’s bells and whistles—some subtle and some epic. You can shake things up or turn them upside down. A gentle breath from you is a gusty storm. You can even poke your fingers into the back of the PS Vita to tear through into the world and help iota complete this very special delivery.”
There is also a new trailer for LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Horror fans should get a kick out of this new endeavor from SuperMassive Games that takes its inspiration from slasher films. The game features a bunch of teens out in the wilderness on the anniversary of their friend’s death. That always turns out just swell!
The Last of Us
Naughty Dog, developer of the Uncharted series, has earned fans respect—and rightfully so. Their newest game, The Last of Us, has a new GamesCon trailer. There isn’t much new footage here, but it is edited together pretty spiffily. This is probably my most eagerly anticipated game in the works right now.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified
This game is coming to the PS Vita and is sure to be a hit, even if it winds up not innovating in the least. But everyone loves a little C.O.D., so take a peek at what it will look like on Sony’s latest handheld.
This is a brand new title coming to the PS3 from SCE Japan Studio. It looks really original and bizarre, and in some ways reminds me a bit of LittleBigPlanet. Check it out for yourself.
Other games that have new trailers include: Killzone Mercenary, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, a God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Combat Trailer, and a GamesCon trailer for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale (plus a bunch of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale character trailers).
Congrats to Sony for breaking the mold a bit and taking chances on some innovative new ideas and IPs. Only time will tell how this move works out, but the end of a console’s lifecycle always yields some of the best games. It’s nice to see the Vita get some game support as well. It’s a good time to be a gamer!
