SDCC 2012: DC Collectibles Panel

DC Collectibles
Every good fan likes a good collectible, and DC fans are in for an especial treat. DC Collectibles, the recently renamed division that used to be known as DC Direct, is now releasing several new collectible figures. Recent collectibles have already met with huge popularity among fans, including figures from Before Watchmen, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman: Arkham City.

We Can Be HeroesRecently at SDCC, a panel of members of DC Collectibles got together to discuss recent changes and what’s coming up next for them. Already, the MAD Just Us League line has been expanded with new figures, including Aquaman among others, and there are more that will be added later on. Several popular lines will be continued, including the DC Comics – The New 52 line with Shazam! and Supergirl, among others. The Batman Arkham City line will be welcoming more “deluxe” figures according to the panel, figures which will include Joker and Killer Croc. New products will be coming in the near future, including figures from the Man of Steel movie and the CW show Arrow.

Fans at SDCC were enthusiastic about the news and shared their own ideas and opinions about future products. There was also a special opportunity to support the We Can Be Heroes campaign to aid in the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. Participants could support the campaign by purchasing figures from the Justice League 7-Pack, with proceeds being donated toward the funds.
