Image Comics has announced that acclaimed comic book writer Cullen Bunn will be penning Regression, the latest book from Image Comics in the horror genre. He will be joined by artist Danny Luckert (Haunted, Atomic Robo) and Marie Enger (Red Right Hand, Tanked, Dept. H)
Delighted, Bunn took to Twitter to share his news and said; “Okay, folks! Here is the FIRST big announcement this week! My first Image book is on its way!”
Debuting on May 10th 2017, Regression follows main protagonist Adrian, a man who is tormented by horrible nightmares. Adrian turns to hypnotherapy in an effort to find a remedy to his horrific plight, only to tap in to something described as “something dark and unnatural”. According to the press release (Below), Regression is a “frightening exploration of the wickedest corners of the untapped psyche. “
Currently working on the Marvel Comics event Monsters Unleashed, Bunn is a veteran in the comic book industry with many critically successful runs under his belt. He is an avid fan of the horror genre and was even nominated for the Bram Stoker Award in 2012; Stoker’s name is attached to this project as well. Bunn has also been a Ghastly award and Eisner Award nominee. Bunn has written The Damned (ONI Press), Deadpool (Marvel Comics), Fear Itself (Marvel Comics), Army of Darkness (Dynamite Entertainment), In The Dark: A Horror Anthology (IDW Publishing), Creepy (Dark Horse Comics), Harrow County (Dark Horse Comics), Night Trap (Lion Forge Comics) and countless others such as Sinestro, Lobo, Convergence, House of M, Magneto, Wolverine, Venom, Captain America and The Sixth Gun for Oni Press.
