Greg Pak must be the busiest man in comics. Between redefining the character of the Hulk and making him far more appealing than he’s been in years, and revealing the history of Magneto and the events that created the mutant demagogue, Pak still finds time to write his own stories. His newest, Dead Man’s Run, will finally hit stores January 18th, courtesy of Aspen Comics.
Through an amazing collaboration consisting of Pak, artist Tony Parker, and film and television producer Gale Anne Hurd, Dead Man’s Run is a unique drama featuring the hordes of Hell in an epic battle for the soul of a single innocent. Check out the full solicit below.
From acclaimed “Hulk” writer Greg Pak, legendary “Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd, and Tony Parker, artist of the Eisner-nominated “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”, comes the biggest blockbuster series of the new year – Dead Man’s Run!
Hell is a prison from which none escape. That’s not a metaphor. It’s a concrete reality surrounded by razor wire and gun towers in the middle of the California desert. But today, a young cartographer named Sam Tinker begins an epic battle against the mysterious Warden and all the horrors of her domain, in a desperate attempt to rescue his sister Juniper–the only innocent in Hell!
Get ready for an insane supernatural action-packed thriller, as Aspen Comics proudly presents its newest hit series, Dead Man’s Run!
A prelude to the series began in Dead Man’s Run #0 and it sets up an electrifying story. As you can tell from my review of the issue, I was simply blown away. Pak has created an intriguing world full of cryptic characters. And Parker’s art on this issue was just magnificent.
Aspen Comics was great enough to give Comic Booked a 4-page preview of Dead Man’s Run #1. If the pages below don’t get you salivating for more, well, then I really can’t help you.
Dead Man’s Run #1 is in stores January 18th, 2012!
