Haunt is the story of two estranged brothers, Daniel and Kurt Kilgore. Daniel is a wayward priest. Kurt is a black-op Agency operative that gets killed in the line of duty. After he dies, Kurt’s spirit begins to haunt and communicate with Daniel. While visiting Amanda Kilgore (Kurt’s widow that was previously Daniel’s lover until running off with Kurt) they find out by accident that Kurt can combine his spirit with Daniel to form the powerful Haunt form. Daniel is soon left with little choice but to seek out and serve with Kurt’s former Agency to protect himself and the people he cares about. Even though Haunt is powerful, there is much to learn about the use and the limits of that power. Be sure that there are other forces at play that want that power for their own devices. Also of concern is what laws of the spirit world have been broken and what consequences may await. The new story arc will deal with a mysterious, shadowy entity referred to as “The Apparition” that has been stalking Haunt during Agency missions.
So now a new story arc and good jumping in point begin in Haunt #13. This new issue is priced at $1.99 and has three covers to choose from. If you have missed the previous issues, the Haunt Vol. 1 TP has been available for some time for $9.99 and the new Haunt Vol. 2 TP releases today in conjunction with issue #13 for $16.99. This title is one of my favorites. Robert Kirkman is a master storyteller and Greg Capullo’s art is very visually pleasing. His splash panels and facial expressions are some of the best out there. I find myself looking at certain panels for minutes at a time. If you have not checked out Haunt yet, now is a perfect time to get on board.
