Aaron’s Pick

Armor Hunters #1 is my big anticipated book this week. This is the kick off of Valiant‘s big Summer event. The X-O Manowar armor is not the only armor out in the universe. A group of hunters are traveling the universe destroying the armor they find and, sometimes, in the process destroying planets. What will happen when they set their sights on Earth? Will Aric, the current owner of the armor, be able to gather his friends, and maybe his foes, to stop this attack? Is there more to the armor than we already know that makes it especially dangerous? Newell’s pick

I’m really looking forward to reading She-Hulk #5 this week. This book has quickly become one of my favorites from Marvel. I had heard Charles Soule’s name and noticed that he’d been picking up more Marvel books, but his work on She-Hulk was my first exposure to his writing. I don’t know if it’s because he’s a practicing lawyer writing a book about a super hero that happens to be a lawyer too, but I was hooked from the beginning of the series. I can’t wait to read this week’s issue as it promises to delve into She-Hulk’s mysterious “blue file” which has been teased since issue #1. Hopefully we’ll start to see what’s really going on there.

Dave’s pick

This week I am waiting with rapt attention for Avengers Undercover. At the end of last issue the team got an offer that would be hard to refuse. With the mixed bag on the team, as well as their complicit assault and subsequent murder of Arcade, it’s just too suspenseful. I am also torn on Sinister Dexter from IDW. It’s ending, but the series has been just an incredible read. I hope IDW does the series a good send off.
