Nightwing #30 is the gem I’m looking for this week.  For those of you who don’t know, Nightwing is ending with his issue, after the events of Forever Evil and a general struggle with the last few years.  In July, Grayson is coming back, but not Nightwing, and I want this issue of Nightwing to give the last days as a hero a worthwhile send off.

This week I am really looking forward to City The Mind In The Machine #4. This has been an awesome series so far. The premise is that the city of San Francisco was trying to implement a city-wide security system called Golden Shield. This would use all cameras, computers, cell phones, and everything to help coordinate emergency response and tactical units to deal with problems. The issue was that the system did not have that human ability to problem solve and handle the nuances of the world. Cue Ben Fischer, the head programmer of golden Shield. Caught in a terrorist attack that blinds him, the program takes advantage of the situation to install sophisticated ocular implants that allow Ben to “be” Golden Shield. He can access every system. This makes him both the biggest asset to the system and the scariest threat to those who may not be acting in everyone’s best interest. Eric Garcia has written an awesome story and I am excited to see the wrap up.
