Looks like fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on the new Batman Arkham City follow-up.
While we all knew for quite some time that a sequel to Arkham City was in the works, we now have confirmation of when to expect it down the pipeline. Speaking in a investors call (as transcribed by Yahoo! Finance), Time Warner’s CFO and chief administrative officer John K. Martin discussed a little of what to expect this year, including confirmation that there are in fact plans to develop a follow-up to the 2011 action adventure game Batman: Arkham City.
Check out what he had to say below:
And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warner’s to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.
Rumors suggest that the third entry to the Arkham series will a Silver Age prequel featuring various members of the Justice League of America. Though, these are just rumors. Nothing solid has been mentioned as of late. Whatever the case, I hope this game surpasses Arkham City as far as plot and scope. Heck, if there’s a Batman Lego game that has an open world environment, why not make the next Arkham game that’ll follow in the same footsteps?
We’ll update you as soon as more information surfaces. In the meantime, feel free to speculate on what this next installment in the Batman Arkham series will be about.
