I'm really torn with this one. I've always loved the character of Thanos but this just doesn't feel right. He already waged war on the Universe, many times, and has moved on. It's almost like all the work of Starlin and others up to this point is just being thrown away in favor of taking the character back to his old ways just because he is in a movie.
None of this makes sense and Hickman writing it worries me. Can he even do a real story in one book? After reading his other stuff, including New Avengers NOW! #1, a single issue can be more confusing than entertaining.
I want to be excited about this but it just feels like stuff I've already seen. Thanos is a character that evolved over the years, he's more sophisticated than a generic villain. He's neither good nor evil. But this just seems like we have to go back to the 90's because some people saw him in a movie.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how he's even back and why he's wearing a costume he abandoned over a decade ago and doing things he swore off over a decade ago?
But… He's gonna be in a movie! And if people see the movie, they're going to want to buy the comic because… Wait. No. I forgot. That doesn't happen EVER. Ugh. I feel your pain, man.
I just don't care anymore. Can't we get through the event that hasn't started yet before we start teasing the next one? Seriously, Marvel. Figure it out.
In one eye and out the other . . . . .
