Marvel Teases SPIDER-MEN

Skott Jimenez 03/09/2012 Reviews

Marvel has released the first teaser for Spider-Men today. I say “first teaser” because the file name for it is SpiderMen_Teaser1 which tells me there’s going to be more. Plus, whatever this is, it doesn’t come out until June which gives plenty of time for many more teasers.

This is actually the second mention of Spider-Men. Last month, during the Ends Of The Earth TeaserMania, Marvel put out a single picture with a very interesting Spider-Logo on it:

Spider-Men, Marvel Comics

Originally, that was all we had to go on and speculation ran rampant since the image showed what appeared to be a melding of the 616 and Ultimate versions of Spider-Man’s logo.

Today, Marvel released not only a new teaser but also announced the creative team, which will most assuredly send speculators into a tizzy:

Spider-Men, Marvel Comics, Brian Michael Bendis

This June – history will be made for the Marvel Universe.

ON SALE THIS JUNE!

So it now appears as if this project is going to be it’s own book and not part of Amazing Spider-Man or Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. Could it be its own on-going series?

Brian Bendis is known to fans of Ultimate Spidey because he’s written a few issues for that series which could mean this takes place in the Ultimate Universe but the reference to the Marvel Universe could mean the main 616 Universe…

It would appear that the only questions this teaser answered was ‘who is the creative team’ and ‘is this part of a regular title or it’s own thing?’ Everything else is still in the air.
