Leaked Assassin’s Creed III Video Offers Plot Synopsis of Series

Assassin's Creed III promo image
Are you excited for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III? I know I am! The game looks like it is going to be amazing and breathe new life into the franchise. As much as I enjoyed the previous games, things were starting to get stale. There will be many new things to explore in Assassin’s Creed III: a new hero, a new time period, a new continent, new mini-games and gameplay aspects… These exciting innovations were somewhat lacking in the Brotherhood and Revelations installments; granted, these games never claimed to be true sequels.

It can be hard to fill new players in on the story up to this point. If someone has never played any of the games in the Assassin’s Creed series, they might not even be aware of the Animus and the sci-fi elements of the plot. What is the best way to get them caught up so they can join the Assassin’s fold and not miss out on what is sure to be one of the best games of 2012? As it turns out, a newly leaked Assassin’s Creed III video does a nice job of filling in Desmond Miles’ backstory while offering a nice synopsis of the events up to this point. Is this the introduction in the actual game? Is it something players will encounter in the Animus? Since it is a leaked video no one really knows for sure yet. In any case, feel free to check it out for yourself.

Pretty cool, though it is kind of strange that the video makes no mention of Connor, the protagonist players will take control of in Assassin’s Creed III.  For an even better look of what we can expect in AC3, be sure to check out the “Boston Tea Party” trailer that came out a few weeks ago (if for some inexplicable reason you haven’t already). Assassin’s Creed III releases for PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 31st, with the WiiU version arriving on November 18th, and the PC version arriving two days after that on November 20th.

  1. Not sure how much I'm going to get done once this game comes out. May be a several day gaming session…
