As seen below, this is probably one of the biggest redesigns of the classic characters’ look that fans have seen. I am not sure that many people will get upset about this in the same way they have done with the high tech super hero redesigns, but it is certainly different. My opinion? Glad you asked. This is certainly a much bolder and techier version of Darkseid, which coincides with what DC has done with all of its other characters following the relaunch. So in terms of consistency I say it fits, but for me personally we are losing a little bit here. I have always been a fan of the darker, blacker looks to Darkseid. Look, he is an evil god and the most dangerous villain in the DCU, he is meant to be menacing and dark. I like that Lee kept the leathery look to the under garments and even carried Darkseid’s notoriously cracked features into his armor, but the bright blues and tech design of the armor make him look a little like a glorified spaceman. Also, that cracked look is taken a little too far here, particularly in the face making him look more like a cracked statue than a unmovable god. You just get the feeling that one punch from Superman will be enough to spray god chunks all over us. Either way, I for one cannot wait for that first battle. Next to Doomsday, I really cannot think of a better chance for DC to take a risk on a villain, we shall see just how menacing this Darkseid proves to be. Let us know what you think of the redesign in the comments and on our forums.

I like the desing solely based apun teh fact it it does look ver godlike.. As much as I loves turners darkseid… this desing has more makes me think more god than a blue tunic.
