Green Lantern: The Animated Series Voice actor Ian Abercrombie Dead at 77

Inside TV at EW.com has reported that the Green Lantern: The Animated Series voice of Ganthet actor Ian Abercrombie has died at the age of 77.

Ian Abercrombie, the actor best recognized for playing Elaine Benes’ boss on Seinfeld, has died. He was 77.

Abercrombie, who did voice work on the movie Rango this year, passed away in Hollywood on Thursday. He just finished work on the animated series Green Lantern for the Cartoon Network.

Having a longstanding acting career  that ran for fifty plus years, Ian is known for far more than his work as Ganthet. Not only was he Ganthet to the Green Lanterns, but he also had roles  in several other DC Comics projects; having played Alfred Pennyworth in the Birds of Prey TV series and a character named Skip in The Flash TV series of the 1990′s.

Ian Abercrombie also had roles in various genre films and series such as Army of Darkness, The Lost World and Star Wars: The Clone Wars; he is a talent that will be sorely missed.

    1. Damn shame about this. Good actor!

    2. Sure we all loved him as Mr. Pitt on Seinfeld, but he did so much more. Sad loss of his talent.
