Free Comic Book Day 2014 Headliners Announced

THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS EVEN IF THEY DON’T REALLY SPOIL ANYTHING AMAZING!

Free Comic Book Day 2014  is coming… in like 6 months! But that doesn’t mean that Marvel Comics is still not going to start teasing us with what books they will be offering at the free event hosted at a local comic shop near you. We have had fun the last couple of years attending our local store, getting new books from comics we love, and reading some stuff that we may never read otherwise.

As you can see by the cover shown in this article, there is a new character joining the Guardians of the Galaxy. Big gun looking thing in the right hand, looks like some pouchy things around the waist, and no hair, meaning some kind of hood. I was hoping for something cool like Space Punisher or maybe Cable in space…

Unfortunately, as revealed later by Marvel, Free Comic Book Day 2014 will brings us the newest member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He is someone who has been around in the Marvel Universe for a long time, went through some major changes in the past few years, and has been part of a team of folks most recently led by Red Hulk. The new member is… wait for it…

Guardians of the Galaxy FCBD cover uncoveredVenom! Yeah, I know, you are probably like, “Why Venom?” Well, he has never really been a part of a space team, so that would be new. And Venom in space could be awesome. Plus, the Guardians of the Galaxy Free Comic Book Day edition will have a special back-up story by Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli that Marvel says “lays the foundation for 2014’s top secret Spider-Man event…an all-new story that will rock the Wall-Crawler’s world to its core!” Yeah, we’ll see.

I will be there with my kids, because our LCS usually does some cool stuff. I will make sure I pick up this book and I hope you do, too. Let me know your feelings about Venom being a part of this team.

Guardians Of The Galaxy has been going downhill fast.
Only reason I'm getting this book is because of Spider-Man
