InfaPlat 01/21/2012 Reviews

Ed Greenwood? Forgotten Realms!?  A new Dungeons & Dragons comic book series? Say what!? Awwwwww yeah!  How can Ed Greenwood scripting a new and ongoing Forgotten Realms (This Infamous Platypus’ favorite campaign setting) based comic book get any better, you ask? Well, what about the chance to have your character appear in the comic book? That’s right: along with the comic book’s release, Wizards of the Coast  and IDW will be hosting a contest. You can submit your very own character for a chance to have The Loremaster himself bring him or her to life. I know I’ll be submitting my Sarunielle (Elven Enchantress) into the mix! What about you?

Legendary writer Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms RPG campaign setting, will be scripting the comic―his first-ever ongoing Dungeons & Dragons comic series―and offering one lucky reader a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have his or her own character appear in the series!

Readers will have the opportunity to play in that sandbox, thanks to the Forgotten Realms Character Creation Contest offered by IDW and Wizards of the Coast. Eligible readers will have the opportunity to submit their D&D® character and one lucky winner will see it come to life in the hands of the Forgotten Realms creator. Chosen by Wizards of the Coast, IDW, and Greenwood, the winner will see his or her character appear in a future issue of the series, subject to the contest  rules.

Given the opportunity to have your own character appear amid the non-stop action of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: FORGOTTEN REALMS, Greenwood quipped ,“you know the old saying about being careful what you wish for? About The Author

As an avid writer, gamer, and dungeon master, it would be hard to classify Jessica Lynn as anything but a geek. Her favorite past times involve raining unholy fire upon her enemies, devising the next great way to kill her party, and figuring out just how far she can push a PC before it explodes. When not taking out her nerd rage on fantasy characters or inanimate objects, she can be found toiling away in the dungeon known as the IT department. If you're wondering; InfaPlat is short for Infamous Platypus.

This sounds like a really cool contest. It's not often you get a chance to have a comic use a character YOU created come to life!
