I am slightly confused… If this new Nova first appeared in Avengers vs. X-Men how is he just now being trained in present time?  It is the small continuity errors like this that drive me insane.  Although Sam Alexander doesn’t have nearly the bite that past Novas have, my biggest peeve is that Nova is now accepted as being the same Nova (personality wise) as that crappy Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.  Ugh.  Makes me sick.  Here is the official press release:

Be honest… Has anything in terms of continuity been addressed in Marvel NOW? Very little. When does Superior Spider-Man take place? Cap is in Zola's dimension in his own book, but in all 3 Avengers books here (except Secret – shhh). Exactly how is Iron Man in space in his own book but involved with the White Event in Avengers as well as the new Illuminati in New Avengers? Marvel needs to have its editorial team start to focus on continuity and get some decent stories working with characters who aren't everywhere… Just ask Wolverine…

I think cutting back titles is the answer to everything. Less titles, less confusion, more editing, and more competition for creators (so they actually try). But that's another argument/suggestion for another time.

Say what you will, I've enjoyed the first two issues of this series and will (hopefully) continue to do so. Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness together again just makes me all giddy inside. :)

Right now Nova is focusing on Sam's origin, which happens BEFORE AvX…jeez, I just got into comics, I haven't even READ AvX yet, and I know that. You should do some more research before complaining about 'continuity errors'
