First Look: Huntress as Robin of Earth 2

Comic Booked Guest Writer 02/28/2012 DO NOT USE

Designs from DC ComicsSecond Wave” of The New 52 keep coming; today DC released the art for Robin of Earth 2. Helena Wayne, whom will eventually be known as the Huntress, begins on Earth 2 as Robin for the Batman of Earth 2. According to James Robinson, writer of Earth 2, a pretty formidable Robin, daring to say the “perfect Robin” although what makes her better than any of the Robin’s the main DC Earth trained I can’t wait to see.

This design follows yesterdays Earth 2 Batman reveal, and brings along with it more questions. This Robin or Huntress is a Wayne, related to the Batman of Earth 2, whom is a Wayne but may or may not be Bruce. Does our Batman have an alternate reality daughter, or sister? If Earth 2’s Batman turns out to be Thomas Wayne, that would be an interesting twist to this Robin.

Thanks to The Source here is what Writer of Earth 2 James Robinson and Editor Wil Moss had to say about the character.

“Helena Wayne has been taught how to be the perfect Robin,” said James Robinson, writer of EARTH 2. “Assured as a detective, fighter, scientist, pilot and all around crime-fighter she’s been groomed by Batman to be the perfect caped manhunter (or should we say manHuntress) when she grows up.”

“Before coming to the main DCU Earth and taking up the mantle of Huntress, Helena Wayne fought crime alongside her father as the Robin to his Batman on Earth-2!” said WORLDS’ FINEST editor Wil Moss. “But how did she come to be on this Earth? And why did she decide to become Huntress? You’ll get some clues in next week’s HUNTRESS #6, but for the real scoop, pick up WORLDS’ FINEST #1!”

So what do you think of the design? Did you this this Robin will pop or will it be more of a fizzle? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or over in the forums.
