First Image from Green Arrow CW TV Series

Comic Booked Guest Writer 03/19/2012 Reviews

Arrow is under production for Warner Bros’, The CW Network and the first image of Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow is revealed. The new suit was designed by Colleen Atwood, a three-time Oscar winner. A credit I think really shows in the design because I didn’t think it could get cooler then what we saw in the Smallville design. I was wrong, the new look is dark and gritty and most importantly, believable in the same way you could consider Batman’s outfit to be more practical then bright spandex.  It appears to be protective and flexible; I can’t wait to see it in action.

The Source talked to Director and Executive Producer David Nutter and received this quote on the series and costume.

“When I directed the pilot for Smallville, I knew that making Clark Kent relatable would be the key to audiences believing in him as a hero. ARROW is a different show — darker and harder-edged — but it’s the same core idea. We’re creating a real, believable world in which Oliver Queen can do incredible things. Colleen Atwood’s great work on the Arrow costume reflects that effort.”

The official description of Arrow by Warner Bros’ is as follows:

“After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime.”

Finally the people you can credit for this hopefully good representation of a fan favorite comic book character are as follows. Executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and David Nutter, whom is directing the pilot, from a teleplay by Kreisberg & Guggenheim, story by Berlanti & Guggenheim. Melissa Kellner Berman is co-executive producer.

I hope they make him "emo" enough.

I want the actor from Smallville to play Oliver. Why is it necessary to always find someone new to play a part. Especially when you have a talented actor already that had Oliver nailed down.

Disappointed but we will see how the series goes.
