“Every Spider-Man Ever” in Spider-Verse Reveal by Dan Slott

Errick "Mr. Enigma" Perry 03/29/2014 News

Last Friday, Marvel teased that “Every Single One” will join Spider-Man in a new story. They also released an almost completely silhouetted image, save one fully inked OG Spider-Man, by Gabriele Dell’Otto.

Now the full image (see cover photo) has been released for the new Spider-Verse Reveal and Marvel has given up more inside details in what they called the “Next Big Thing” press call. “Amazing Spider-Man” writer Dan Slott took lead of the press call along with senior editor of the Spider-Man titles, Nick Lowe. The tale will hit shelves in November 2014. “Every Spider-Man Ever” is teased in the promotional artwork including Scarlet Spider, Iron Spider (one of my personal favorites), Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, Peter Porker the Spectacular Spider-Ham, etc. I believe I even saw the Marvel Mangaverse Spider-Man!

Spider Verse 3

“Kicking off this November in Amazing Spider-Man #9 (with a special lead-in story on Free Comic Book Day), Slott and Coipel assemble an legion of Spider-Men from every corner of every universe. Peter Parker, Miguel O’Hara, Miles Morales and many, many more must unite to stop a seemingly insurmountable super-powered foe. Morlun, an incredibly powerful villain has returned with a singular and terrifying goal – exterminate every Spider-Man in every universe! It will take thousands of spider-powered heroes to battle back the greatest threat to this universe or any other!

Spider Verse 4

“The scope of this event is so big, the word ‘epic’ just doesn’t do it justice,” says editor Nick Lowe. “The story is just huge and heartbreaking and has necessitated spreadsheets to organize all the Spider-Men. Luckily we have a writer who has proven time and time again he can thread impossible story-needles [Slott] and the most versatile character artist in thebusiness [Coipel].”

I think we can all agree that the word “Epic” has been ran into the ground. Yet, I don’t want to use any other word to describe this. It. is. E…xcellent! Gotcha.

Readers will get a glimpse of the new super event in Amazing Spider-Man #1 this April and a full view into the Spider-Verse in Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day Guardians of the Galaxy issue. The 5-page introduction story will be available for free on May 3rd at participating retailers. Are you ready to see an army of Spider-Men drop webs of justice on Morlun? What was that? Who said “no?” You’re not exicited by Marvel’s Spider-Verse Reveal? If you’re not a Spider-Man fan, well then you’re not a person and we can’t be friends anymore. I know I’m excited. It’s going to be E…xtravagant!

Ha! :

But seriously, this should be an EPIC story, so why not go get it?

About The Author

Errick "Mr. Enigma" Perry here. I live and breathe comic books. If it's a comic book story, movie, game, etc, I'm likely to talk your head off about it until you are ready to kill me. I'm hoping to be able to publish my own comic stories one day, but until that day I'll continue to geek out about comic book media on the interwebs.
