Death of the Family to Receive Die-Cut Covers

Death of the Family Batman
The event that will surely shake the Bat-family to its core and the shape the future of Gotham City is just around the corner. Death of the Family is due to hit shelves this October with issue #13 of what many consider to be DC’s current flagship title, Batman. It will see the long awaited return of Batman’s greatest enemy, the villainous, murderous, yet somehow loveable, Joker.

As of yet we do not know what the Joker has in store for Gotham’s caped crusaders since plot details have been kept under wraps. But today saw the release of more cover art for the crossover issues: Batman #13, Batgirl #13, Catwoman #13, Suicide Squad #14, Batman and Robin #15, Detective Comics #15, Nightwing #15, Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 and Teen Titans #15. Comic Book Resources posted the special die cut covers by Greg Capullo in an article this morning.

When CBR spoke to Capullo in September, he described the creative process as: “a bit of a challenge. The die cut itself had to have straight edges. The other challenge was working within the limitation of using only half of a characters face and reusing the same angle for all. Trying to show individual personalities within these confines. I think I pulled it off.”

The covers – which can be seen below – feature every member of the Bat-family, along with The Joker and Harley Quinn for their respective titles. Death of the Family starts in October with the release of Batman #13!
