Dead at 50! Deadpool Meets His Maker In February

Michael Wirth 12/06/2011 Reviews

I’ll admit it. I’m not a big fan of the character of Deadpool. Sure, he has had his moments, like the Age of Apocalypse Deadpool getting his head teleported off by Nightcrawler. But really, other than that, the character never really had much appeal to me. But he helps to sell buttloads of comics books and in my opinion, that’s really all that matters. Being such a consistent seller, to hear that Marvel is announcing his death is just strange. Do they not realize the ridiculous fan following Deadpool has? Anyway, check out the official press release below for some insight into the decision.

Deadpool meets his end in February in a story by Daniel Way and Carlo Barberi.Could this be it? Has everyone’s favorite Merc With A Mouth finally made an appointment with Lady Death? This February, witness the biggest change in Deadpool’s life as “DEAD” kicks off in Deadpool #50! From the creative team of Daniel Way & Carlo Barberi, Deadpool’s lease on life is about to expire and those around him are going to feel the consequences including X-Force! Following the epic battle with his former body parts gone rogue, Wade Wilson makes a monumental decision that will forever change who he is. See how it all goes down this February, in Deadpool #50!

Really, one phrase caught my attention in that entire press release. “Following the epic battle with his former body parts gone rogue…” What does that even possibly mean? Is that a literal battle with his own body parts? Is that going on right now? If so, why am I not reading this title? Now I’m looking forward to the death of Deadpool even more!

Man if they kill Deadpool I will be upset. I enjoy his book and his wise cracks.

I really like this title and Way!!! He does a great job with Deadpool!

Since Deadpool had a relationship with Death in the past (poor Thanoes), I'm sure this will just be a "deadbutreallyinanotherrealmsolvingaproblem" kinda thing.
