The DC Universe Online Beta is sadly coming to a close at the end of the day today. The plus side of that, is that the full game’s release date has been bumped up three weeks from January 30th to January 11th 2011! Wednesday January 5th will be the last day of the DC Universe Beta in the U.S. and Thursday will be the last day to get in on the action in Europe.
Luckily for fans, the team behind DC Universe Online isn’t letting this MMO’s Beta go quietly! To celebrate the conclusion of the Beta, Sony Online is setting up the epic Battle of the Legends- a cataclysmic battle in which players can fight alongside some of DC Universes most prolific characters including Batman, Superman, The Joker and Lex Luthor. Players choose a side and let the battle royale begin, much like in the opening cinematic for the game itself.
To get in on the action, simply show up when the battle starts on your server! Legendary comic book artist Jim Lee (aka Future Batman) is getting in on the action, taking on several members of IGN’s staff! Full battle schedules are listed below, don’t miss out on your chance to take part in the biggest battle DC Universe Online has seen yet!

If for whatever reason you can’t make it online during the battle- no worries! The DC Universe Online Facebook page and twitter will be tracking all of the battles progress, so you’ll be able to keep track of what you’re missing! Expect live streaming video, screens and updates! This online event is going to be one t remember!
Don’t forget, all servers are shutting down at the end of the event, so make sure to get your game time in today! The end of Beta testing is a huge event for any massively multiplayer online role-playing game, don’t miss out on our last chance to play before the servers are wiped clean and everyone starts out anew on launch day, January 11th, 2011.
