All I can say is right now I'm so happy I'm not a DC Comics reader. This whole reboot thing…there is no way to talk myself into thinking it's a good idea.

It's almost like DC just decided to throw everything at the wall and see what, if anything, sticks.

I would be more apt to jump on to Action Comics at #950 and take it through #1000 than grabbing a #1.

Sorry, DC, I don't want you to fail miserably but I can't and won't support this exceedingly bad idea.

    • Comic Booked 11/16/2012 at 3:07 am

Did you end up reading any of these titles? Swamp-Thing…can't go wrong there….

  2. Robb Orr 06/11/2011 at 1:12 pm

Damn. That's quite a bit to wrap my head around!

  3. The Crimson Blur 06/11/2011 at 1:12 pm

Some of those costumes look pretty awesome!

  4. Jordamus Prime 06/11/2011 at 4:32 pm

I'm personally going to at least buy every one of these #1's to see what I do and don't like. After reading the first issues, I'll decide which books to get the #2 and so forth of.

  5. Ben 06/12/2011 at 8:39 pm

Thanks for the list, Jordamus! This has helped immensely and been shown to all the customers of Empire's Comics Vault in Sacramento, Ca.

    • Jordamus Prime 06/13/2011 at 10:47 am

Awesome! As a huge comic fan, I felt like it might be a major help to everyone that buys DC's books to actually have a full list available as to what'll be coming up with the relaunch. Glad to see it's been helpful!

  6. Boosteriffic 06/13/2011 at 8:55 am

This is unacceptable, Booster gold lost his own monthly title, but the POS "new" Blue Beetle got his own?!? of course I will be picking up JLI and possibly the new Green Arrow (Norm Rapmund and Dan Jrgens are heckuva cool guys and I may just read wherever they goes!)but the others I used to pick up, I won't be picking up ANY other titles by DC anymore….

    • Jordamus Prime 06/13/2011 at 10:49 am

I personally question how books like 'I, Vampire' or 'Resurection Man' made this cut, let alone 'Mr. Terrific', but Red Robin is dropped? The first time in 20 years that Tim Drake isn't starring in his own solo book.

  7. F.E. 06/18/2011 at 10:33 am

I read both Marvel and DC, but I have to be honest, I'm pissed off over the reboot. The "lets reboot a book at number 1!" idea never works. Investors will buy a few of them in hope of making a large profit off of them later and real fans get fucked over because there weren't enough in the shop.

Naturally, I'm not pleased over one of my books getting killed in this, but my best friend is dropping new titles he picked up at number one because after almost a year they're being kicked back down to number one again.

I understand that this is a business and the goal is to make money. I won't fault the heads of DC Comics for wanting to be profitable, but they seem to have forgotten that hitting certain numbers are milestones for creators as well as fans. I was ecstatic when Transmet hit issue 60, Skott was going on about Fables hitting 100 a year before it did! Part of the joy in reading comicbooks is seeing a book be successful enough to hit these major marks. It's sad that we have to celebrate a new title hitting issue 12 and surviving a year.

It's enough to make me sit down and consider whether or not I want to continue reading the DC books that I love or to switch strictly over to Marvel and Dynamite (for Ennis). What makes it even worse, for those of us loyal to a particular mom and pop comicbook shop, is the owners are going to suffer the loss of sales as well. Reboots always suffer losses in sales, but the major companies always survive. It's the fans and the shop owners that suffer.

Way to go DC, I hope you enjoy the one month boost in sales from the investors, and I hope it's worth the continued loss in actual fan sales.

I couldn't agree more. Yeah, I was talking about Fables hitting #100 for at least a year before it hit, when I realized it was actually going to happen I couldn't keep my excitement inside. Previously the highest series I ever collected was Ghost Rider. That went to 93 consecutive issues and I remember reading a Ghost Rider themed magazine where they were talking about the big status quo change that was to happen in Ghost Rider #100.

When Fables hit #94 I was geeked…when Fables #99 came out…I had a grin on my face that couldn't have been removed with a laser. When Fables #100 came out I literally started at the cover for at least an hour before I could read it. I couldn't believe I was actually holding it in my hands.

I hear a lot of people saying the numbering isn't important and the old stories are worthless and no one likes to read them…I don't know who these people are but I'm glad to not be one of them!

i for one, and truly happy to have a reason to read DC now that the majority of them no longer look like silly asshats left over from some 70s rave….

So let me start off by saying I am a HUGE DC comic fan and I’m probably one of the last ones left who actually know original story lines and know how members like “The Teen Titans” actually ended up according to those old story lines. People seem very ticked about this reboot but to be honest DC has slightly rebooted all our comics anyway.

Now true the numbers stayed the same and they went to some weird extent of bringing back characters and then throwing them into relationships that some of us felt were dumb as hell (Raven and Beastboy), but what ever. We still kept reading and no one bitched, why I ask? Because the numbers stayed? If so that’s stupid.

Now look this reboot I give you reset the numbers but hell I would rather reset the numbers and get a new team over haul then Superman 1000 anyday. Marvel has rebooted their comics 3 or 4 times and they are still going strong, in fact this new DC relaunch has crushed Marvels sales badly. Now I will miss some things like Dick Grayson leading the Titans before its handed over to Drake but w.e.

And I will miss key characters like Raven, Starfire, Cyborg and a few others from the original Titans group. But lets see where this goes. If they dig their own grave with it then so be it but I have honestly never been let down by DC yet and Ive read for 25 years. So I give them the faith they deserve until some how they manage to ruin it. But till then Make Mine DC! Not to mention I like their movies far better than the crap Marvel has been putting out even their animated movies are better than Marvels if you ask me.

Looking back now….what a crazy time for comic fans. 52 new books? Not entirely sure what they were thinking.
