Constantine coming to NBC

Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo series Hellblazer, John Constantine, the magical bad boy, is coming to NBC this fall. Following the success of Arrow on the CW, this decision to bring Constantine to the small screen could be a great one for fans, as there is a lot to explore with this character. Although, as we have seen with the previous big screen attempt, this could also go very very wrong.

Take a look at the trailer for this awesome looking new series before you go jumping to fanboy-rage fueled conclusions.

I don’t know what you all think, but I feel like Welsh actor Matt Ryan may just be the person to capture the true spirit of John Constantine. He seems to slip so easily into the part of the selfish con-man magician. I am very interested in seeing what they do with this next season.

Overall, this looks like a great show, and Constantine has increased in popularity recently with his involvement in the Forever Evil event that we covered extensively here on Comic Booked. John Constantine is a complicated character and it should be a lot of fun to watch the show develop his character. Mostly, I want to see if they include other magical people like Felix Faust, Nick Necro, and, most of all, Zatanna.
