Comics In The City – 03/27/2012: Mike Mignola Launch Party in Redondo Beach

Tonight Cousin Matt and I headed out to the Mysterious Galaxy bookstore in Redondo Beach for our good friend Mike Mignola’s launch of Joe Golem and the Drowning City. Mike also hosted a Q&A where he answered questions about the book, his work with Guillermo del Toro, and his own feelings on ghosts.

“I don’t like rules.” Mignola explained, detailing how he appreciated it more when stuff just happened and the characters just had to deal with it. Ie: One might think “oh a ghost can’t hurt me” but then bam! The ghost might just turn into a giant beast and eat the bed. Things are so much more frightening and real that way, he feels. (And so much more fun.)

The fantastic writer and artist of horror also enlightened us to one time when he’d dealt with the supernatural, I hadn’t planned on taking any video so I didn’t have my professional video camera on me but I just had to get that one down for you guys regardless.
