At times, in the pursuit of geek journalism, there comes a moment when we have to take a step back and take time to look at the bigger picture.  Sure, Comic Booked is always here to bring you the latest original content on the DcnU and the rest of the comic world, or the juiciest video game, movie, TV, and convention coverage.  But every so often, great news comes along that doesn’t fall into one of these categories.  This post is about news of another nature.  It is my delight to welcome two new souls into the world, and the Comic Booked family.  Two of our writers have recently become proud parents!

Jacques NyembWriter and artist Jacques Nyemb hails from Durham, North Carolina. Jacques is a great guy (and not just because he shares my love for Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, and Transmetropolitan) who specializes   in independent comics coverage. Amidst the chaos of hurricane Lee, Jacques found a sunny eye in the storm as his daughter Elizabeth was born.  He is now a proud (but sleepless) new father!

The Comic Booked family would like to offer our most heartfelt congratulations to our proud new papas and their families, and would welcome you to do so as well.  It is true, “The children are our future,” and as you can see – the future looks bright and geeky.  Personally, I can’t think of a more kind and caring pair of gentlemen to take on the challenging, yet rewarding, mantle of fatherhood.  We wish you and your new families the best, Jacques and Colin!  Blessed, be.
