With all the insanity that is C2E2 going on, it’s easy to miss out on some of the big announcements from the con floor! Luckily Comic Booked has you covered!

Editor In Chief of Aspen Comics, Vince Hernandez, has just told Comic Booked’s own Victoria Paege that at C2E2 Aspen has announced acclaimed artist Mike DeBalfo will be taking on both cover and interior artwork duties for Soulfire Volume 4! “I’m looking forward to working with him as he’s really striving to knock it out of the park. Stay tuned for a look at his first Soulfire piece very soon!” says Hernandez.

Mike DeBalfo is best known for his work over at Zenescope Entertainment where he was formerly the company’s first ever exclusive artist and tackled cover-art duties on series like Grimm Fairy Tales, Escape From Wonderland, Fly and The Theater. He also did full interior artwork for such series as Zombies vs. Cheerleaders and Tales From Wonderland: The Red Rose.

Aspen Comics Soulfire tells the story of a futuristic world where magic has all but disappeared from existence. It follows the tale of a boy named Malikai who has been chosen as the one to bring magic back into the world while he and his group of misfits quest to stop the remaining magic from being used for evil. Soulfire was created by the late Michael Turner and first hit the shelves of comic shops in March of 2003 when a preview issue was published in Wizard magazine that introduced our main characters.
