My Little Pony has been around since 1982 in some shape or another. Always cute and, seemingly, female-focused, this product line has made a serious comeback with all genders in the last couple of years. Pony Girls and Bronies alike get excited every time they hear the theme song. IDW confirms one more thing to shake up the Ponyville and give all fans a chance at a piece of pony history. IDW’s Breakout All-Ages Series Hits Major Milestone October 2nd

Now, less than one year into the series, IDW is proud to announce that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has reached a monumental milestone of selling over one million copies at retail, and the pop culture phenomenon shows no sign of slowing down. The “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” animated series is created by Hasbro Studios and is currently airing on The Hub TV Network in the United States and can be seen globally in over 170 countries. In an unprecedented move, issue #12 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, due in stores out this month, will boast an extremely rare variant cover that will be limited to twelve copies total! These twelve copies will be dispersed via multiple contests and charity auctions to those fans and retailers responsible for the incredible success of the series. I find this comic to be funny and cute, and this completely acceptable since I am the father of a 7 and 9-year old girl. It is always fun to share my love of comic books with my kids and it would be really cool to share this piece of comic history with them as well.
