Baturday: Midnighter is the best book you’re not buying

Baturday

Happy Baturday, folks!  And in regards to this week’s subtitle…  Seriously.  Steve Orlando is on the rise and why shouldn’t he be?  He’s unique in that he’s both humorous and poignant in his storytelling approach.  Don’t believe me?  Buy Midnighter and Batman and Robin Eternal and find out for yourself.  They’re great.  It was seriously hard to pick ONE pick of the week this week, and it made it even more difficult because two of the three perfect 5/5 scores were from Mr. Orlando.  He’s one to watch.  And his books are not to be missed.  Here are my reviews of this week’s Batman and Bat-family/related releases:

Bat-Mite #6 (of 6) – My Rating: 4/5

Detective Comics #46 – My Rating: 5/5

Midnighter #6 – My Rating: 5/5

Gotham 2.7: “Mommy’s Little Monster” – My Rating: 3.5/5

Arrow 4.5: “Haunted” – My Rating: 4.5/5

Green Arrow #46 – My Rating: 5/5

Batman and Robin Eternal #5 – My Rating: 5/5

Justice League: Darkseid War: The Flash #1 (One-Shot) – My Rating: 3/5

Justice League: Darkseid War: Superman #1 (One-Shot) – My Rating: 4/5

Harley Quinn and Power Girl #5 (of 6) – My Rating: 4/5

…and my pick of the week is…  MIDNIGHTER!!!

If nothing else, old school Grant Morrison JLA era fans will agree with me for the surprise at the end of the issue.  If not, you’re still in for one hell of a book.  The art is phenomenal every issue and the characterization is spot-on.  You gave us Midnighter VS Grayson, not give us Midnighter VS, well, you know who!  What was your (second) favorite book this week?  Are you still into Gotham and Arrow (and the other DC shows taking over our TV screens every week)?  Let us know your thoughts and feelings (so very many feelings) in the comments section below.  See you all next Baturday!
