Marvel is pleased to present your first look at superstar artist Ed McGuinness’ Avengers X-Sanction #1 cover. The safety of the future is at stake and it’s all up to Cable in order to save it – even if that means taking on the heaviest hitters in the Marvel Universe. With only 24 hours to destroy the Avengers, can he take on all of Earth’s Mightiest alone? Find out as superstar creators Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness kick off the countdown to the 2012’s status quo-shattering event in the Avengers X-Sanction #1!
I have mixed feelings about Cable’s return. I like Cable and know that he can bring something new to the table, especially now that Hope is now more comfortable with herself and her abilities. But he really hasn’t been gone long enough for his absence to really make a difference. Hope mourns his loss, of course, as well as Cyclops. Will Loeb be able to make Cable’s reappearance meaningful?
However, I am excited to see how Cable and the Avengers come to odds with each other. Why is Cable after the Avengers? What happens to the future that forces him to try and take them out? Is this even the Cable that raised Hope Summers from a baby to become the messiah, or a different Cable from earlier in the timestream? Though I’m conflicted on the idea of Cable returning, I am intrigued to see how Loeb and McGuinness pull it off.

This is going to ROCK!
two thimgs:
Cable's mom is Madlyine Pryor, not Jean Grey (difference is that 1% of DNA that allows Jean to be Phoenix and Maddie to be Goblin Queen)
Another is I hope they put out another Cable ongoing
Man just when Nate Grey gets back and finally has his chance to shine….Cable undermines him *yet again!*
Ironic that Loeb is the person responsible, given that he created X-Man and shunted him over to 616. I agree with the piece, this feels unnecessary, but then it's Loeb and McGuinness. Things will explode and look pretty.
