Avatar Press Brings the Gory Goodness to SDCC

SDCC
Avatar Press always pulls out all the stops when it comes to conventions.  Avatar has a booth bursting with great guests and books, as well as hosting excellent, fun, and informative panel discussions.  Their presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year looks to continue this tradition in a BIG way.  Amazing artists, writers, exclusives and merchandise make it mandatory to swing by the Avatar Press booth (#2701) and get in on the gory goodness!

Avatar will be well represented by writers and artists galore at SDCC!  The staggering array of talent attending this year includes:  Garth Ennis (Preacher, Crossed, The Boys and so many others), Max Brooks (World War Z, The Zombie Survival Guide), Jacen Burrows (artist extraordinaire of Crossed, Neonomicon and so many more), Mike Wolfer (Gravel, Night of the Living Dead, Lady Death), Brian Pulido (creator of Lady Death), Rich Johnson (Bleeding Cool), and even a limited appearance and signing session by George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones, Fevre Dream)!  If that isn’t enough to make you just about lose it, then check your pulse.

“What about exclusives?” I hear you ask.  Yeah, Avatar Press has you covered in that department as well.  There will be signed leather hardcover editions of Alan Moore’s Light of Thy Countenance as well as SDCC exclusive covers of his awesome Neonomicon.  Signed leather hardcovers of Anna Mercury and Gravel by Warren Ellis (!) will also be available.  Also be on the lookout for SDCC exclusive editions of Crossed: Family Values #2, Lady Death Premiere, and Fevre Dream #2.  The books in this paragraph alone would make me blow my entire convention budget in one fell swoop!  In addition to books there are some pretty sweet prints (like The Zombie Survival Guide ones) available too.  Check the Avatar Press website for complete SDCC merchandise information.

Can’t wait for the upcoming Crossed movie, adapted from the Garth Ennis comic, to come out?  How about checking out his new short film Stitched that will be premiering at SDCC Room 6DE on Thursday, July 21st at 8:15 p.m.?  Stitched is an Afghanistan war story with a supernatural/horror twist that is introduced in this 15 minute film.  The DVD can be pre-ordered, and then picked up and signed by Mr. Ennis at the event.  The story in Stitched will also be explored further in an upcoming comic series.  For more information and a trailer for the Stitched short film, check out the official website at:

So consider yourself informed and prepare accordingly.  I kid you not when I tell you that Avatar Press rocks the conventions.  I tell you this from experience.  Do not miss out!  I wish I could be there with any of you lucky enough to go.  Have a blast and stop by and say “hi” for me.
