This one is something of a sticky wicket. Long time comics artist Justiniano, who’s worked on such titles at Evil Ernie, Chastity, The Flash, Hulk, Superman, and 52 and worked with writers Brian Pulido, Bill Willingham and others has been charged with possession of child pornography.
According to the Connecticut Post the situation came to light yesterday when Justiniano, real name Josue Rivera, dropped off a thumb drive at a funeral home. The drive was supposed to contain a slide show of pictures for a recently deceased individual that was to be played during funeral services. When a funeral home employee looked at the photos on the drive, however, they found the drive contained something else.
According to police, the thumb drive contained 33 files of child pornography including, allegedly, Rivera’s niece. Police later seized Rivera’s home computer and found 153 files of supposed child pornography, including 3 videos.
Using the Child Recognition and Identification System, police have been able to identity 35 of the children.
