The comic-book event of 2013 finally arrives as superstar creators MARK MILLER and FRANK QUIETLY give us the superhero epic that all future comics will be measured by. The world’s greatest heroes have grown old and their legacy is a poisonous one to the children who will never live up to their remarkable parents. Unmissable.
RETAIL INCENTIVE AVAILABLE! SEE ORDER FORM FOR DETAILS!

A Mark Millar book NOT coming out from Marvel’s Icon brand? Hmmm, interesting. Wait, Frank Quitely is involved? Even better! I’ve loved many of Millar’s stories and am looking forward to seeing what he comes out with next, and you cannot miss with Quitely’s art… It can take some getting used to but it’s on my list of favs! -Kelly Cassidy

Season 2 of the smash hit series begins here, with a special, full-sized, impossibly priced $1 prelude – the perfect jumping-on point for collection readers looking to move to single issues!

Okay. This is definitely in my top 3 fave comic series out right now. It’s really amazing; Nick Spencer is a good writer and Joe Eisma’s art is really fantastic. I LOVE how he draws facial expressions. It’s also an intricate, complex plot with a growing cast of equally fascinating characters. I loooove MG. -Tatiana Christian

MIGHTY SKULLKICKERS: A classic relaunch that blazes a new trail with familiar fan favorite sensibilities. A bold, new direction, a continuing story and a brand new adjective! Our twenty-first issue is brand a new #1! Our B cover is a variant with the original numbering, in case readers want their issue super-duper “old school.”
P.S. Retailers: Shelf this numero uno alongside other “Mighty” comics you may have hanging around the shop. Tell them it’s the latest and greatest thing, because it IS!

Never read it but this is a creator who is obviously sick of the Marvel NOW! relaunches but is taking full advantage of them to promote his own book, now with adjectives! We already saw Uncanny Skullkickers, now we have the Mighty. Coming up next: New Skullkickers!All-New Skullkickers! Skullkicker Academy! -Kelly Cassidy

HAPPY! TPHappy Vol. 1
story GRANT MORRISON
art & cover DARICK ROBERTSON
APRIL 17

112 PAGES / FC / M
$12.99
Meet NICK SAX – a corrupt, intoxicated ex-cop turned hit-man, adrift in a stinking twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, eczema and betrayal. With a hit gone wrong, a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous child killer in a Santa suit on the loose, Nick and his world will be changed forever this Christmas.
By a tiny blue horse called Happy…
Collects HAPPY! 1-4

I am not picking this up because I am getting the individual issues. This is a strange, fun romp through a deliusional state that has a flying blue cartoon unicorn pushing a man to save a young girl. It’s Grant Morrison and Darrick Robertson. It’s a mystery action story, not a superhero one. And it’s great fun. -Kelly Cassidy

ARTIFACTS #28Artifacts
story RON MARZ
art MARCO TURINI
cover STJEPAN SEJIC
APRIL 24
32 PAGES / FC / T+
$3.99
“TRUTHS & DESTINIES,” Part Two
FBI profiler and Rapture bearer Tom Judge used to be a man of the cloth. His faith led him away from the Church. The Magdalena, however, still serves the Church. Can both Tom and the Magdalena overcome their differences of faith to battle an evil that is as old as the universe itself?

Artifacts is the definitive title for the Top Cow universe. It is the string that ties everything together. Yes, the main characters in Top Cow have their own books, but Artifacts is the glue. Without it… It will all fall apart. And the stories that have been coming out of here from Ron Marz are nothing short of fantastic. -Kelly Cassidy

BedlamBEDLAM #6
story NICK SPENCER
art RILEY ROSSMO
cover FRAZER IRVING
APRIL 3
32 PAGES / FC / M
$3.50
“Confession.”

OMG BEDLAM. Another series by Spencer that is well-paced and interesting, it also includes the delicious art by Riley Rossmo. HE’S MY NEW FAVORITE PERSON. Even though the main character from Bedlam reminded me a lot of The Joker and what DC is always trying to do with him, I think Spencer does it better. It’s a truly awesome story and I’m glad I caught on while it was new instead of discovering it AGES later like I did with Morning Glories. -Tatiana Christian

IT GIRL & THE ATOMICS #8It Girl and The Atomics
story JAMIE S. RICH
art MIKE NORTON
cover MICHAEL & LAURA ALLRED
APRIL 17
32 PAGES / FC / E
$2.99
“(NO) SURPRISES”
It’s the anniversary for romantic superhero couple Black Crystal and the Slug, but it appears that Black Crystal has forgotten. To be fair, he has other things on his mind. Like giant monsters that have erupted from their home beneath the ocean looking for a fight!

Honestly, there isn’t another superhero comic on the stands today that truely represents the spirit of superhero comic books than this one. It’s back to basics and more fun than a superhero comic book should be! -Skott Jimenez

MaraMARA #5 (of 6)
story BRIAN WOOD
art MING DOYLE & JORDIE BELLAIRE
cover MING DOYLE
APRIL 24
32 PAGES / FC / T
$2.99
Everything’s on the table as far as the military’s position on Mara, but who’s the one with the nuclear option?  How much power can one woman hold before the world says “enough”?

This is an interesting series that seems to have more depth than I figured. It had an interesting first issue with strong writing and artwork, and coloring that suited this title but maybe not other ones. It’s a unique book, and with Brian Wood as the writer you’re getting a solid story (he’s also writing for Dark Horse and Marvel too, so he’s busy but his quality isn’t lacking!). -Kelly Cassidy

While I’m not a fan of Wood’s verbose writing or Doyle’s stiff art, Mara is a unique story centered around a world-class volleyball player. I’m fascinated by where the story is going and what will ultimately happen in this limited series. -Tatiana Christian

SagaSAGA #12
story BRIAN K. VAUGHAN

Simon Cooke’s journey into the underbelly of Saturn City continues. Think about it… how repressed would YOU be after waging a war on crime for the entirety of your adult life? What happens when the superhero power fantasy finally ends? Find out by buying more SEX!

This seems really interesting and I’ll honestly buy anything relating to the topic of sex. CAN’T WAIT. -Tatiana Christian

THE WALKING DEAD #109The Walking Dead
story ROBERT KIRKMAN
art / cover CHARLIE ADLARD & CLIFF RATHBURN
APRIL 10
32 PAGES / BW / M
$2.99
Maggie and Sophia pick up the pieces and continue their lives at the Hilltop.

This promises to be a heartbreaking issue. With everything else going on we seem to have forgotten what Maggie and Sophia lost in trying to find a safer life for themselves. There might be some watery eyes while reading this one. -Skott Jimenez
