It’s Tom Baker’s Doctor who takes the spotlight here! This series is a tribute to Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary and each issue focuses on a different Doctor with an art team suited to that character, but the writer’s being the same for the entire series as it all ties together. It’s an epic event to coordinate for the anniversary but I have faith. -Kelly Cassidy

Ending the first year of this fun and fantastic series with Godzilla facing some of my favorite bad guy monsters? Yeah, this is how it should be done! This series has maintained the movie feel, giving a slow build to a large battle between Godzilla and his enemies. That’s what I wanted and that is what I got! Fans of Godzilla, as I’ve said repeatedly in Bullet Reviews, have been waiting for this series for a very long time! Check it out! -Skott Jimenez

Mars Attacks #9Mars AttacksMars Attacks

FC • 32 pages • $3.99
*Variant Covers:
variant Nick Percival cover!

The unstoppable Martians continue their reign of terror on Earth! This series, though, seems to focus more on the humans than the Martians. I’m enjoying it but honestly I would like to see more from the Martian perspective. It’s a great series and certainly something very different than almost anything else on the shelves today! I’m also enjoying the variant covers that take place moments after the events depicted on certain trading cards. If you can’t get the cover you need not worry: The standard covers for this story are polybagged with a trading card version of the variant cover. And they aren’t increasing the price! -Skott Jimenez

From the characters to the story to the art, this is the Transformers series I’ve been wanting for a long time. I did really like the early IDW stuff but their recent books have adapted to much of the BayFormers movie versions of the characters for my liking. This series, which of course continues the Marvel run, has characters I know in forms I recognize. The current stuff they are doing is good and I’m looking at trades for them but this is the book I want! -Skott Jimenez
