What started off as a rumor nearly seven days ago is finally being confirmed as Warner Bros. has announced it is in fact going to be making another I Am Legend. Loosely based on Richard Matheson famous work, the hit film from 2007 was a huge success after grossing $584 million world wide, another installment was bound to happen at some point. Akiva Goldsman and Overbrook Enterainment have closed a deal with Warner Bros. to produce the sequel/prequel, even though Will Smith has not yet signed on, with Overbrook being his company its expected he will probably be involved as well.
The question now is, with Smith being killed in the first movie, how would he show up in a sequel? Reports are saying that it isn’t a prequel, but if you remember from a couple years ago, Smith discussed a story in which the last city fell to the virus. Is this what they decided to move forward on? Only time will tell. The three things I would like to see in this installment? No agonizing death scenes of dogs, more flash backs as they were one of my favorite things about “I Am Legend”, and last please make those creatures more realistic, in this day and age everything should look real CGI or not.

Bring it! I can live with or without Smith being attached.
I don’t see much point in this sequel. I think they should leave it be.
I see both sides to this…Jordamus you are dead on with it being a great stand alone movie especially with the hero kicking the bucket. Robb if they have a BETTER survivor story and it turns out to be a sequel, then I’m all for round two.
Eh, I mean the first one was not the greatest movie, I doubt this would be much better.
