Aloha, Tiki Zombie!

Colin Bell 12/09/2010 Features, Reviews

Word has reached Comic Booked of the forthcoming launch of a zombie comic unlike any that have came before – move over Walking Dead, hang up your boots I, Zombie… here comes Tiki Zombie! New Legend Productions are behind the book, written by Michael A. Gordon with art by Peter Cutler.  Gordon has previously worked on the The Untold Origins of Invisible Scarlet O’Neil, reputedly the world’s first super-powered comic heroine, and co-hosts the Earth Station One podcast, which you can access through his blog.

Tiki Z

Tiki Zombie is a comic set on the exotic island of Mooga Bali.  Legend has it, that is where the entrance to the underworld lies – locally known as Avaiki.  The place is home to strangeness, and perhaps the strangest of all is the protector of the island, a cursed lounge owner named Tiki Z.  He does not remember his life before becoming one of the undead, but he is no mindless zombie.  He does not crave brains, merely a good time!  When danger strikes, if you’re very lucky, he’ll come to your rescue and make you a drink!  Tiki Z is joined in his adventures by Hula Lu, the finest dancer in the world, waitress in Tiki Z’s lounge, and more than able to handle herself in a fight:-

Hula-Lu…Tattoo Balloo,  Tiki Z’s head musician…

Tattoo Balloo…and Don – the foul-mouthed talking shrunken head.

Peter Cutler (whose Deviantart page is here) provides some kitsch, fun artwork – clearly evidenced by the character designs you can see above, so the book should be a real treat when it hits in 2011.  Gordon and Cutler will be heading to C2E2, HeroesCon, DragonCon and NY ComicCon througout the year in support of the  book, and you can find more information about the promising Tiki Zombie here.

New Legend Productions is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ³Tiki
Zombie,² a comic book written by Michael A. Gordon with art by Peter Cutler.
